What Does Pegasus Performances Do?
Pegasus Performances is a Calgary based theatre and entertainment company. We’ve been around since 1993. Simply Put: We Entertain You! We do both Private bookings (eg. corporate parties) and occasional Public Dinner Theatre shows (click on our “Upcoming Public Shows” link for info) throughout the year where anyone can attend. For over 10 years Pegasus Performances was the resident company at The Deane House, which has now changed it’s focus.
We perform Comic Murder Mysteries, Medieval shows, corporate entertainment, business teambuilders, custom shows – and much more! We also send out a wide variety of skilled Talent or fun entertainers for functions large or small. Need roving characters such as a fabulous Austin Powers impersonator, a belly-dancer, magician or a psychic? Whatever your entertainment needs – give us a call!
How Many People Will You Do It For?
1 to 1000, depending on your budget and the situation.
How Do These Murder Mysteries Work?
What happens, other than “You’ll Die Laughing”? The emphasis is on comedy! Shows are usually done in a dinner theatre format. Mystery guests find a helpful “ballot/ info sheet” at their table, then actors enter and perform scenes right near them. These episodes introduce characters and motives while setting the scene for FUN! The action is up-close and guests can get involved, interact with suspects, or just watch and enjoy! Then a dramatic (or rather ‘comedic’) “Murder” occurs. A break is taken. Guests eat, formulate theories and devise questions. The performance resumes with more comic scenarios containing further jokes and clues. A “Kangaroo court” (mock trial) with a judge and bailiff from the audience ties up any queries guests might have. Help solve the crime and be judge and jury, or just watch and be amused by light-hearted entertainment where laughter and fun come first, but clues are there to be found for the attentive sleuth! Guests vote for who “dunnit”, ballots are collected and Pegasus makes a presentation honoring the evening’s “Super Sleuth”.
Do I Have To Dress Up?
Not at all – but you certainly can if you want!
Does The Audience Participate?
Your choice! We have scripts with lots of audience participation or none. With either, individual guests choose. You can sit back, laugh and enjoy – or you can question suspects, interact with characters, join in a joust or get very involved if you’d like!
Where Can You Do This? Do You Have A Space?
We can perform just about anywhere. Private homes, restaurants, community halls, a large boat – even a shed on a farm! Depending on the show or service, all we generally need is a dressing room for actors close to the performance area. We are delighted to work with your space and catering choices – or happy to make recommendations. We can send suggestions to help you select the perfect place. Or check out our ‘Catering, Restaurant, Locations’ board on Pinterest for ideas, photos and links.

What Kind Of Function Or Occasion Is This Good For?

What’s the Cost?
That depends on the artist, show or service requested and the number in the audience. Please e-mail or phone us to discuss your budget and needs.
